According to an official press release, the Kingdom also ranked 20th worldwide in overall network experience among countries with large geographical areas (over 200,000 square kilometers).
The Kingdom’s 5G download speeds reached an impressive 243.7 Mbps, outperforming countries like Brazil and New Zealand. This achievement highlights Saudi Arabia’s significant investments in 5G infrastructure and its dedication to providing high-speed connectivity for its citizens.

Opensignal, a global network analytics firm, evaluated Saudi Arabia’s performance based on the Global Network Excellence Index, which relies on three key pillars:
- Availability of 5G and 4G networks
- Download speeds
- Excellent Consistent Quality (ECQ)
The ECQ metric assesses deeper aspects of network performance, measuring factors such as upload speed, latency, jitter, packet loss, and data arrival time. This ensures a seamless user experience for essential applications like video calls, gaming, and live streaming.

The report noted that 61.3% of users in Saudi Arabia enjoy excellent and consistent quality of service, placing the Kingdom 31st globally among large-area countries.
