Apple’s Upcoming Devices: Touchscreen MacBook Pros and an OLED iPad mini

Apple is preparing to introduce a new generation of devices, led by MacBook Pro laptops featuring touchscreen displays and an updated iPad mini.

According to Bloomberg, the anticipated lineup includes 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, an iPad mini with an OLED display, new iMacs, and an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro.

MacBook Pro Models with Touchscreens

Apple is reportedly planning a major shift in its MacBook Pro lineup by introducing touchscreen technology to its 14-inch and 16-inch models for the first time.

The changes are not limited to display technology. Leaks suggest that the new screens could also incorporate Apple’s Dynamic Island feature.

Lighter Design and Improved Performance

The new laptops are expected to feature significantly lighter enclosures than current models, reflecting Apple’s effort to combine reduced weight with a more efficient design.

In terms of processing power, the high-end laptops are expected to use Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, potentially delivering a substantial performance boost.

Touchscreen support would mark a significant change in how users interact directly with macOS. Combined with OLED technology, newer processors, and a lighter design, the anticipated models could offer a different experience for both everyday users and professionals.

A New iPad mini

Apple is also expected to unveil an updated iPad mini featuring an advanced OLED display, as part of a broader effort to improve screen quality and enhance the device’s core features.

The tablet is reportedly set to feature a repositioned FaceTime camera designed for landscape use, alongside an upgraded speaker system.

These changes are expected to deliver a more immersive viewing and listening experience compared with previous generations.

New Processors

The anticipated lineup also includes updated iMacs and an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by Apple’s M6 chip.

These devices are expected to retain designs similar to those of their current counterparts, with the upgrades focused primarily on internal components and processing performance.

The planned releases would coincide with the introduction of higher-end MacBook Pro models powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, reflecting Apple’s strategy of tailoring processors to different device categories and user needs.

Overall, the expected updates range from major changes to displays and laptop design to internal hardware improvements in other models. Apple has scheduled its next product event for October 28, although the reported specifications and features remain subject to confirmation.
