June 21, 2017, (26 Ramadan 1438 AH) represented a historic day in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s progress. On this day, governors and princes in the Kingdom pledged allegiance to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and he became the Crown Prince.
Since the Crown Prince, Prime Minister – May Allah protect him- assumed his Royal position, the process of the developmental initiative was set in motion.
The Crown Prince, who assumed the responsibility of leading the Kingdom’s progress toward a transformed society, developed a comprehensive vision to promote sustainable economic growth.
The Crown Prince exerted a great effort, patriotically, to serve the Kingdom and the people of Saudi Arabia by devising a grand plan and viable strategies in the field of development, education, infrastructure, environment, innovation, space, logistics, and women’s empowerment to make Saudi Arabia one of the best countries in the world. In order to achieve this goal, the Prince launched “Vision 2030”, which was accompanied by a package of reforms, development, and construction plans in various areas to enhance the quality of life of citizens, residents, and visitors to the Kingdom.
Since he became the Crown Prince, the Kingdom has witnessed a comprehensive breakthrough, strengthening its position among the developed countries. Saudi Arabia was ranked among the top 10 G20 countries in various areas, mainly in the field of digital technology transformation. The Kingdom is planning to take the lead in the field of digital technology, thanks to the country’s high-quality infrastructure; it has advanced to the top positions globally in the field of entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) indicators.
The ambitions of the Crown Prince surpassed all expectations. He is devoting all efforts to attain a competitive and sustainable industrial economy, making the Kingdom a leading industrial force that will contribute in securing global supply chains and exporting high-tech products to the world. This initiative will be in parallel with stimulating other economic areas to create more jobs for citizens by investing heavily in the development of an educational system compatible with market requirements.
The Crown Prince seeks to achieve this by narrowing the gap linking higher education progress to the need of the Saudi labor market. For further integration and achieving considerable progress in all fields, His Highness launched the National Strategy for Games and Esports as a new step towards excellence and transforming the Kingdom into a leading player in this sector by 2030. This will play a great role in attaining the objectives of Vision 2030 which includes diversifying the economy, creating career opportunities in various sectors, and providing high-quality entertainment for citizens, residents, and visitors alike.
Vision 2030 also includes renewable energy localization, enhancing industrial equipment sectors, establishing high-quality tourist attractions, and supporting a vibrant society by improving the quality of life of citizens and residents, as well as increasing cultural and recreational avenues in addition to promoting healthy lifestyles through sport, recreational activities, and sustainability. The Kingdom is planning seeks to strengthen the role of Saudi citizens at the national, regional, and international levels, as well as the political, economic, cultural, technological, and sporting fields.
These major initiatives are led by the Crown Prince to build an ambitious and unique state reckoned among the most reputable countries in the world.
